Dragon nest Gold farming Guide for beginners

Dragon nest Gold farming Guide for beginners

Credits : http://forum.cherrycredits.com/topic/207046-conceptual-guide-for-gold-farming/

Any beginner will always ask this:"how do you farm gold?".
I'm always hesitant to answer this question. Why? because every gamer has a different gaming orientation. And if i say something like, "boost lowbies. farm frags and gifts. do this and that",
it might ruin his gaming experience. Especially if hes someone who is new to the game.
Its like giving advance tactical strategies to someone new to chess.
It will only misdirect him and frustrate him and may be a reason for him to quit.
So, I'm writing this conceptual guide to orient the mindset of fellow DN newbie adventurers in gold farming. This will not tell you to farm this, farm that. This will teach you concepts to help you how to plan out your own GOLD FARMING SESSIONS that fits your game style.

Resource, Position, and Time.

These 3 things will determine the amount of gold one can farm given a period of time. If you know how to take advantage of these 3, you can maximize your gold output efficiently.

Resources are your in game gold and actual money that you are willing to spend.

Position is where your are currently in the game content(eg. leveling up, newly capped, average nest raider, endgame raider)

Time is kinda hard to explain but if you understand this you can gain gold effortlessly. Basically, its about what the dragon nest sea is currently holding and how long has it been holding. Just think about events, patches, cap increase.(not the literal amount of time you spend playing DN)

Before explaining these 3, i will first mention about:

The Law of Supply and Demand

I will not go extra technical on this so i will explain thing very concisely.
The "DEMAND" of an item is the amount of people wanting it.
The "SUPPLY" of an item is the amount of people having it.

And this two will ultimately determine the PRICE of an item.
If the demand increases, the price will increase.
If the supply increases, the price will decrease.

That is very basic, right? So, i will get back on my explanation about resources and position.

Common problems for Newbies.

If you are very new to game, meaning you just have your first character and your still leveling up,
you literally have low Resources cause you don't have enough gold yet. This of course will
affect your gold output. But every veteran DN player will tell you this: "Do not worry about gold farming yet.Try to hit level cap for the meantime".

Problem: You have low Resources therefore you cant buy and sell in the TH. And you have poor Position in the game, the dungeons you can go to are at low levels therefore the item that drops have low demands therefore low prices.

Solution: Improve your Position by hitting level cap but also maintain a reasonable gold output during leveling process (maintain gold output by the use of THticket -> will explain later.).

If you hit level cap but still cant produce proper gold output since you dont have decent gears. You cant go the the decent dungeons and nest, then the problem is that you dont have the Resource to take advantage of yourPosition.

Problem: You may have rushed level cap blindly.

Solution:
You should have farmed as you level up. If you dont have the gold yet to afford at least decent weapons in the level cap, prolong you leveling. Take advantage of the ftg consumption.

You may farm for items that have "fixed demands" like skill fragment in chaos opening or boost lowbies. This is a very frustrating situation to have since the gold output is very hindered by the ftg consumption. It is your decision if you will continue this path.

However, you can also create a new character. Since you are a better player now with a better knowledge, you can now properly handle your new character and guide him to minimize loss and maximize gold output and game experience. Also, you can fund your new character with the gold you gain with your first char.Just to kick start him. I am not suggesting, that you abandon your 1st char, i am suggesting you make another char for support. Take advantage of the level up rewards.

Knowing the demands

Knowing the demands separates the veteran DN players from newbies. Basically, it is about the 3rd concept i just mentioned which is "TIME".

To explain it concretely, let me summarize what happened to the price when 60cap arrived.

when 60cap arrived
-entry tickets cost around 200g.
-crafting mats cost around 500g each.(salamander mats and green suffix mats)
-set weapons cost around 10Kg up.
-non set weapons cost 2~5Kg

now look at the TH now, and notice the difference in price. Stop and think about it for a moment.

ok. done?

If you havent catch up with the idea yet let me tell you what i did (a non Cash spammer).

-soloed master to farm green mats until i reached 60 (if i dont get a party).
-soloed abyss dungeons to farm tickets and non set weapons. (yes i died most of the time but i enjoyed it.. haha)
-DQ 50 for salamander mats.
-i didnt stocked the green mats, salamander mats and tickets in the storage
-nor ive crafted my own set items yet.
-I sell it right away since the price is still hot.
-stocked up gold and wait for the prices to be stable.
-then buy mats in the TH.
-efficiently geared up.

If you farm the same items now it will still yield gold but not as decent ofcourse. Why it worked before, is because i took advantage of the "TIME" for maximized gold output.
I looked for items that are high in demand and farmed for it TIMELY.

The supply of items here in dragon nest will constantly increase.
This is the opposite of the real world (eg oil supply)
This is because dungeons always drops items(duh).

knowing this, since supply always increases, prices also constantly decreases with few exemptions (eg cap increase or new dungeon).

Therefore, almost most of the time, it is a bad idea to stock up materials.
A better idea is to stock up with gold. Since in a week, the prices will decrease.

Also, look up on the events the CC is holding, if CC gives free mats by next week, then surely the mats price will decrease. so if you have mats on hand, sell it right away and buy mats with lower price back in TH after the event (if your still gearing up).

Lastly, if you noticed during 4-10pm gmt+8, whe the servers are crowded, prices are lower.
And in around midnight up to 2pm the next day, prices are higher.

The reason is self explanatory, there are many people during 4-10pm rushing to get their items sold hence prices are lower.Take advantage of this. This is taking advantage of the concept of "TIME".

Price behavior of some in demand items.

Green mats: every one loved this. This is used  for putting suffix on gears. The demand on this is HIGH but somehow constant but the price is getting lower since the supply if increasing because of deceptive stronghold and normally because more people accessing the lvl60 dungeons.

Salamander mats: set crafting materials, very high demand every one crafts set items but the prices is getting lower, since more people doing nest thus increasing supply.

Potential codes: High demand. every one wants these but since it is
difficult to seal, the supply of this is constant, thus stable prices.

Jellies: a very constant price and a constant demand since it is a CC item and it has a price basis.
but there are certain period of time that prices will be lower especially when a lot of people
are spamming gatcha boxes. you can take advantage of this and buy it when price are lower and
resell it when it gets stable.

Stamps: constant demand. every one wants stamps because of the bind system. Constant price.

Jewels: A constant high demand and a stable supply, even though many people farm this, a lot of people also spamming this for enhancing therefore it may decrease it price but at a slower pace. Also, its prices will sky rocket when the lvl cap arrives. One of the few things that is good to stock up.

Skill fragments from chaos openings:
a very high and constant demand. Most is still crafting their own skill accessory with perfect stats.
Also, its prices will sky rocket when the lvl cap arrives. One of the few things that is good to stock up.

Skill Heraldries (depending on the skill):
very high demand with very limited supply. Pricey but you can farm dimensional fragments during leveling process and exchange them with skill plate thus prices dont cost unimaginably high.

Heraldry:
Price is going down since more and more people are doing nest at the moment.

3rd stat heraldry plates:
the only thing in DN with unpredictable prices. Very high demand and very low supply (luck is the only way you can get a hand of this).
one thing is for sure, it will make you rich (especially 3rd stat FD) !!$$

Alternatives if ever i still cant run dungeons that drops high demand items.

Trading house ticket:
this is the only thing that makes you gain constant gold output even with your not so "indemand" items, like Blue equips and low level crafting mats and more because you dont have to worry if about TH daily and weekly limit.

Common mistake of a beginner is to constantly open the level up reward box every time they level up. And therefore, they will have 2 THticket in the inventory at the same time. Basically, wait for the previous THticket to expire before you open another reward box with THticket. (tip, move your mouse over the reward box to know what is inside. )

Pet(for those who can afford):
They pick up everything. every coin, every item. They really maximize your gold output. If your boosting, it'll also prevent your apprentice from stealing your green mats.

NPC Gifts:
You can exchange it with so many valuable things. Codes, jewels, nonset weapons(very costly during cap increase), NPC/repair discounts etc. Whats not to like about it? only wews, dont like it.

PVP points:
yep, it yields gold too. Even if youre a PVE player try to PVP once in while, may it be ladder or colo (comp on).

Final note:

Final note already?
Yep, i ddnt mention what is the most efficient dungeon to grind to.
Because efficiency depends on every player's game style.

Knowing the the 3 concepts will kick start you to your DN journey.
I have mentioned those things because I've met so many newbies complaining they cant do that, cant do this.

Just take note of the supply and demand of certain items and questions ask yourself these questions:

Resources: do i have the gears? do i have the money?
Position: what are the dungeons am i comfortable with?
Time: Is this the proper time to farm for this items? is it efficient?

asking these question will keep you in track with a realistic immediate goals and thus wont frustrate you along the way.

SO....

-Do not blindly grind dungeons.
-Plan out your own Farming/grinding session.
-Know the demands of the items.
-Do chaos opening if you have time.
-Make new characters for free THtickets, stamps, jellies and FTG.
-PVP for points and medals.
-Boost a friend/guildy.
-Run low level nests.
-Play with the market (buy and sell).
-Participate on an event.
-Organize a nest raid.
-Take things one step at a time.
-Set realistic goals.
-Dont rush (since DN is not a console game that you need to finish in a week).

and ultimately, JUST ENJOY the game. :)
